Jules Lund to quit Nine, hints at Seven switch

Jules Lund

Getaway presenter Jules Lund has announced he will depart Nine, the network which gave him his break ten years ago.

In the announcement, Lund hinted at the possibility of a move to rival Seven.

Remaining as a presenter on Southern Cross Austereo’s Today Network with Fifi Box, Lund said: “It’s exciting to think for the first time ever I can pick and choose television projects on any network.”

“I’ve also got the freedom to explore opportunities with Fifi Box outside of radio. We’ve formed an unbreakable bond, and up until now, our network contracts have restricted appearing on TV together, so that excites me,” he said.

Box is a Seven talent with an entertainment editor role on Sunrise.

Lund, who became one of the leading faces for Nine, hosting game shows, reality game shows and producing a documentary, began his career at the network presenting videos on Saturday morning TV.

Recently adding to his family with a baby girl, the presenter said he made the decision to leave the network earlier this year.

Of his time at Nine, Lund said: “The past decade has been an absolute blast. Being part of Getaway, one of the country’s most successful super-brands was a dream of mine as a teenager. I’ve ticked off hundreds of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities in an industry where you’re lucky just to have a job, let alone travel the world for it.”

Lund added about his radio career: “Radio is perfect for a young family. Not to mention how much bloody fun it is. It’s taken two years to set the foundations for The Fifi & Jules Show, now the best is yet to come.”
