‘2024 is set to become the biggest year of sport’: Stan unveils Olympics offering

Streaming giant Stan has unveiled its comprehensive coverage plans for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Viewers can get extensive ad-free, live, and on demand coverage of the games from July 24, with the biggest moments in 4K Ultra HD.

As well as 40 individual sports channels covering every event, eight live international channels will also be available on the platform, making the Olympics accessible to more audiences and communities across Australia.

The move marks the first time international channels, including non-English options, have been offered to the nation for the Olympics.

Sports journalists Tara Rushton and Adam Peacock will also host the Stan-exclusive Olympics Daily and Paris Preview shows, which will contain opinions and analysis from some of Australia’s most iconic atheletes, including Ash Barty, Grant Hackett, Stephanie Rice, Nova Peris and John Steffensen.

Stan chief executive officer Martin Kugeler said 2024 is “the biggest year of Sport for Stan”.

“Due to our unique live and on demand offering, we will make sure Australian sports fans can watch every epic moment from Paris 2024 when and where they want,” he said.

“Our fantastic lineup of some of the biggest sporting legends will provide expert commentary, insights and analysis.”

As part of the Nine group, Stan Sports coverage will complement the 9Network’s Olympics, offering free to air assets and 9Now, bringing the Olympics to Australian audiences better than ever before.

An upgraded Stan Sport platform was also revealed, with enhanced features delivering subscribers a rich and effortless Olympics viewing experience.
