3M wants to ‘end manky’ with bandages that stick
Manufacturer 3M is calling on Australians to use bandages which will actually stay on in the shower in a bid to ‘end manky’ in its latest campaign.
Promoting its Nexcare Blister range, Penso has launched a new campaign for the brand poking fun at the gross situations which arise from having bandages fall off in unwanted places.
In its first campaign since winning the account, Penso has created three ads for the brand using situations including a bandages falling off in the shower, at yoga and in the change rooms.
The ‘end manky’ campaign will run across social, digital and point of sales across both Australia and New Zealand.
Diana Cornall, senior brand manager for 3M consumer health care Australia and New Zealand, said the situations highlighted in the campaign resonate with most people.
“We didn’t want boring medical style advertising, we wanted something that people will remember.
“We wanted to highlight our product strengths – the Nexcare Blister strips stay on due to their unique design. We have presented this to our channel accounts and the reaction has been strongly positive and we are looking forward to seeing the consumer reaction to it and believe it has strong potential for consumer interaction and user generated content. #endmanky”
The campaign aims to increases sales, brand awareness and help Australians ‘end manky’.
Constantine Frantzeskos, founder and CEO at Penso, added: “In a cluttered category our first campaign for Nexcare cuts through the noise with a very distinctive and memorable campaign that highlights how its range of quality foot care products are durable and can cope with everyday challenges. We’re excited to be working with 3M to drive growth of this challenger brand.”
Thanks very much for the coverage of this campaign. We’re really proud of it.
However in the use of the competitor brand, Bandaid, you’ve highlighted the challenge that Nexcare is facing.
Through the use of superior 3M adhesives and materials, we believe Nexcare is a superior product. The bandage that sticks.
We can only hope that our ad sticks in people’s minds (ha ha). Tough ask, but slowly, slowy.
