ABC to air new panel show with Wil Anderson from the team behind Gruen

The team behind one of the ABC’s longest-running and most successful original programs, Gruen, has been tapped for a new quiz-panel offering.

Question Everything will be hosted by Gruen’s Wil Anderson, and Jan Fran of The Project and The Feed fame, with the ABC revealing the show will air as an eight-part series beginning Wednesday, 18 August at 8:30pm.

The new quiz format has been created by Anderson and will produced by CJZ, with Jess Cohen Cornelius on board as producer and Polly Connolly as executive producer.

Anderson and Fran will take a look at the week in fake news, false claims, scams, frauds and lies, dissecting the news and sorting out the fact from the fiction each week.

They’ll be joined by a rotating panel of comedians, for a program that the ABC is promoting as being “for anyone who has ever been lied to by the media… so it’s all of us”.

Fran said: I cannot wait to get started. Question Everything is our chance to take a microscope to all the misinformation that we are bombarded with every day to see where it starts and how it spreads.

“At least, thats a rumour someone sent to me on WhatsApp.”

Anderson said: I’m excited by the chance to showcase Australia’s best new comedy talent, and also make history as the first comedy news panel show on the ABC. Please don’t fact check that.”

ABC head of entertainment, Nick Hayden, added: “I don’t usually trust press releases. They’re spin from the media elites trying to sell you something, wake up sheeple. But Question Everything truly will replace all the fake news in the world with facts. I read that on Facebook.”
