Acast appoints Henrik Isaksson as Australian country manager

On-demand audio and podcasting platform Acast has appointed former Spotify country manager Henrik Isaksson to run its Australian operations.

After leaving Spotify Isaksson was NSW and Queensland sales director for Singtel-owned programmatic mobile advertising service, Amobee.

Stockholm based Acast claims it has 56 million monthly listens to its 1,400 shows: “Australia is one of our fastest growing markets and we are very lucky to have Henrik at the helm,” said Acast’s CEO and Co-Founder Måns Ulvestam in a media statement. “Henrik has deep experience from working in many different sales organizations and has a unique perspective on the audio industry from his time at Spotify, and we are confident that he will have a significant impact on our business.”

At Spotify, Isaksson held various sales related positions starting first at the company’s headquarters in Sweden and later supporting the launch of new markets in Denmark, Finland, Austria & Switzerland. He moved to Sydney in 2012 as part of the launch team for Australia & New Zealand.

“Podcasting is in it’s infancy in Australia and our goal at Acast is to help bring audio on demand to consumers, publishers, brands and agencies in Australia,” said Isaksson. “Acast is by far the most advanced tech solution in this space and a one stop shop for advertisers wanting to reach podcast audiences at scale.

“I’m thrilled to be part of a company pioneering this space. We are already seeing a huge demand for our platform & services from both podcasters & advertisers in Australia and to date there hasn’t been a solution capable of catering this”.
