Adelaide Fringe looking for best creative talent to design 2024 poster

Adelaide’s biggest arts festival, Adelaide Fringe, has opened its poster competition to find the artwork that will become the face of the festival in 2024.

Themed ‘Arts Unlimited’, the festival aims to champion the notion that arts is for everyone.

Heather Croall, CEO and director of Adelaide Fringe, said: “We invite people to step into Fringe unedited.

“We strive to be as inclusive as possible. At Fringe, we want to make the arts accessible to all.

“We would love to see a poster that captures the spirit of ‘Arts Unlimited’,” she continued.

The competition, which has catapulted the careers of dozens of creators, artists and designers, will celebrate its 50th year in 2024.

The artist with the winning design will receive $6,000 in prize money and free registration for an exhibition at the festival, as well as social media support.

This year, Cairns-based artist and owner of graphic design studio Concrete Creative, Alana Naylor, won the competition. She told Adelaide Fringe at the time: “It’s surreal, insane, amazing, incredible, and just fills me with so much freaking joy.

“It’s an absolute honour and a privilege, and I can only hope this artwork does its job; reflecting and compounding that distinctive ‘Fringe’ feeling, and sparking a sense of energy, joy and wonder in all who cross its path.”

The competition is now open, and will close Sunday 13 August. Head to the Adelaide Fringe website for more information.
