Admatic promotes Matthew Crook to national CEO

The man who has until now been Admatic’s national managing director, Matthew Crook, has been promoted to national CEO of the digital agency.

Crook will now work with group CEO Michael Ungerboeck on the evolution of Adamatic’s strategy, vision and expansion plans.

Crook was previously CSO at Dentsu Aegis Network

Crook finished up as chief strategy officer at Dentsu Aegis Network last year, before joining Admatic.

In addition, the agency has appointed James Gilchrist as the first managing director of the Sydney business.

Gilchrist joins from Atomic 212 where he was account director, and then group account director, working across tier-one clients for the agency.

Admatic said the appointments come as the business continues to grow, with “65% growth over the past year” and “increasing staff numbers by 25%”. Admatic has also recently opened a Melbourne office.

Crook said being at Admatic thus far had proved most rewarding, and he was looking forward to leading the company through its next stage of growth and development.

“We have exceptionally talented people, a clear and differentiated strategy that thankfully is resonating with clients. The conversations we are having with clients is showing a clear interest in partnerships outside of traditional agency groups,” he said.

Gilchrist too was excited by his appointment, noting the reputation of the agency.

“The reputation the agency has in the industry for technical excellence and agency/client transparency is something that was very attractive as it resonates strongly with the standards I’ve set for myself and the teams I’ve had the pleasure of managing in the past,” he said.

“The philosophy of striving to always bring the client the best possible work and to genuinely have a passion for their business has served me well in my career and to see those same characteristics in the DNA of the agency is hugely exciting.”

Gilchrist also highlighted the talent pool of the agency.

“Admatic’s commitment to excellence will serve us well now and into the future. The most exciting aspect for me is it’s clear that Admatic is chock full of bright, talented and accomplished people doing great work for their clients, and I can’t wait to contribute to the team.”

Admatic has worked with brands including Google, UNSW and Kia.
