Archetype teams up with BillWill to launch pre-death bill and subscription planning solution
Communications agency Archetype has partnered with BillWill, the world’s first open banking solution, for pre-death bill and subscription planning.
The Aussie startup helps customers identify and plan what happens to their bills and subscriptions after death, sparing their loved ones the hassle.
BillWill’s founder, Colin Jowell, came up with the idea following the death of his father, when a single bill took months to shut, to spare other families from this painful experience.
The partnership between Archetype and BillWill is a reunion of sorts for Jowell and Archetype principal consultant Jillian Nalty, who worked together over a decade ago at the same ad agency.

Nalty said: “Archetype has been working with tech brands in Australia for 25 years and this experience has taught us that despite perpetual disruption, our need to connect on an authentic human level never changes.
“Working with a start-up from the very beginning is an incredibly rewarding experience and I’m so pleased we are able to deliver a solution that seamlessly integrates both paid and earned channels.”
Jowell added that Archetype’s expertise has helped BillWill define a lean launch strategy, focusing on the things that really matter – from traditional PR to search, social and digital communications.
“The team have brought more than just their considerable smarts, but each person has gone above and beyond to deliver. They have been generous with their insight, patient with the ever-changing needs of a start-up, and have become a much-valued extension of our team.”
