Are Media drops comms director role

Are Media will no longer have a communications director after Danika Porter finishes her contract at the media outlet today.

The former Mumbrella head of marketing has been at Are Media throughout its transition from Bauer Media to Are Media, including a merger with Pacific Magazines and a sale to Mercury Capital.

Are Media CEO Brendon Hill told Mumbrella that the decision had been made not to replace the role.

“I can confirm that Danika’s contract ends with Are Media this week. Danika has done a phenomenal job leading the communications strategy as we transitioned to new ownership. The contract role was appointed to support the company through a significant year as we moved through a merger, acquisition and of course rebrand.

“The role of communications director will therefore not be directly replaced and Claudine Hall, together with our PR agencies Tag PR and Thrive, will manage our trade and consumer communications moving forward.”

Prior to Mumbrella, Porter was head of international marketing for media distribution and production company Beyond Distribution.
