‘Arguably the largest cardboard structure of its kind’: Enphase Energy and Opal set up awe-inspiring activation, via The Sphere Agency
Sustainable packaging company, Opal, and international energy technology organisation, Enphase Energy, erected a wholly sustainable “life-size cardboard house” activation, via The Sphere Agency, Mumbrella can reveal.
Situated as a focal point of the event’s floorplan, the environmentally friendly activation was used as a trade stand at clean energy event, All-Energy Australia Expo.
The house was constructed from recyclable cardboard supplied by Opal. It gave delegates the opportunity to witness Enphase’s technology solutions in action inside a environmentally friendly structure.
“Enphase broke conventions and transformed the solar industry when we introduced our revolutionary microinverter technology in 2008,” Enphase Energy ANZP’s general manager, Patrick Matweew, said.
“Our partnership with Opal to create the fully recyclable trade stand is another powerful demonstration of how Enphase supports and leads sustainable innovation. The initiative perfectly aligns with our purpose to advance a sustainable future for all.
“In addition, the stand, arguably the largest cardboard structure of its kind currently built in Australia, will be leveraged as a training space to educate solar installers about our solar, battery, and EV charging solutions.”
The activation was a melding of expertise and overall business visions: Opal’s knowledge of sustainable packaging, The Sphere Agency’s goal of “bold, purpose-driven marketing” and Enphase’s mission of a more green future.
When commenting on the work, The Sphere Agency’s Michael Abdel – who is also the founder of the recently-launched marketing department optimisation business, Hummington – said he hopes it serves as inspiration and a case study on how experiences and creativity do not have to be sacrificed when seeking to reduce waste.
“The cardboard house is more than just a trade stand; it’s a symbol of what’s possible when brands commit to sustainable innovation,” Abdel said.
“We believe this to be the largest cardboard structure built for an expo in Australia. By using 100 percent recyclable materials, we’ve achieved an 80 to 90 percent saving on typical stand wastage – proving that eco-friendly choices are not only beneficial for the environment but also highly efficient.
“We hope this partnership inspires others to see the potential for reducing waste without compromising on creativity or experience.”
