Hangout: Rocket Fuel founder George John talks life after an IPO and programmatic trading

Johns, a self-confessed geek, has worked with some of the wold’s top technology brands in roles from engineering to marketing and management, for companies including IBM, Salesforce, Epiphany and Yahoo, where his personalisation work saw a 400 per cent uplift in click through for clients.

In 2008 he co-founded Rocket Fuel, which uses artificial intelligence in its algorithms as a way of determining the optimal time to serve up ads to consumers, and led it through an IPO in March 2014 as CEO before stepping into the role of chairman.

Listen to the hangout below:

John was talking to Mumbrella editor Alex Hayes about the rise of artificial intelligence, a hot topic in the ad industry, and what impact it could have on the marketing industry and in particular programmatic.

He also discussed how he built and led Rocket Fuel through its IPO, as well as how he sees marketing developing over the next few years.
