The Australian Survivor audience was up from Monday night’s 677,000.

Seven’s Zumbo’s Just Desserts, which went head-to-head with its reality rivals at 7:30pm, jumped 50,000 from last Tuesday’s episode to 880,000 to make it the most watched non-news show of the evening.

The second episode of 800 Words, which aired at 8.45pm on Seven, fared less well, with its debut audience of 877,000 falling to 742,000 – its lowest ever metro total.

It was beaten by Nine’s Married at First Sight, also in its second outing, which held steady at 805,000, just 5,000 fewer than Monday night. The blind wedding series topped the key advertising demographics.

Seven won the night with an audience share of 20.5%, just ahead of Nine’s 19.8% with Ten capturing 14% of the audience. ABC took 11.7% and SBS 5.1%.

Seven came top in news, with an audience at 6pm of 1.19m, falling to 1.09 for the Today Tonight combination, with Nine’s bulletin at 6.30pm drawing 999,000 and 976,000 at 6pm.
