BMF, Tourism Tasmania, Journey Beyond and Town Square set for Travel Marketing Summit
The Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit lineup is taking flight with the next wave of sessions announced featuring Tourism Tasmania, BMF, Journey Beyond, and Town Square.
The program serves to examine the latest industry trends, debate the biggest talking points, and showcase category-defining work that truly cuts through. The summit, and awards take place on 28 August at Crown Sydney.

(L-R): Lindene Cleary – chief marketing officer, Tourism Tasmania; David Fraser – executive creative director, BMF
The latest confirmed session will go behind-the-scenes on Tourism Tasmania’s enduring Come Down For Air brand platform, make the case for long-form ideas and spotlight why thoughtful risk-taking is critical in creating distinctive work that lasts.
Chief marketing officer Lindene Cleary will team up with BMF’s executive creative director David Fraser, to reveal the prerequisites necessary for producing commercially effective work that’s grounded in emotional truth.
There’ll be a plethora of insights and perspectives on offer, guaranteed to challenge status quo thinking.

(L-R): Justine Lally – executive GM – marketing & product at Journey Beyond; Brendan Day – executive creative director at Town Square
One of travel marketing’s biggest challenges is creating desire for a place people can’t get to right now. Whether it’s halfway around the world, or deep in Australia’s Red Centre, the goal remains the same: to turn passive audiences into emotionally invested ones, even before a bag has been packed.
The next confirmed session will go under the hood on one of the year’s most ambitious travel activations – The Ghan.
Join Justine Lally, executive GM – marketing and product, at Journey Beyond, and Brendan Day, executive creative director at Town Square, as they reveal how they stopped more than 1.1 million people in their tracks with an immersive activation that transported city-goers through Australia’s stunning outback landscapes … without ever leaving Melbourne.

(L-R): Erik de Roos – executive director, marketing, South Australian Tourism Commission; Marianthi Livaditis – GM, marketing and creative services, South Australian Tourism Commission; Sara King – GM of purpose, Intrepid Travel; Stuart Wragg – MD, Salterbaxter
