Dr Mumbo is still trying to work out what makes the Daily Mail’s story about pop douche Justin Bieber eating a sandwich a news story.
Let alone a ‘BREAKING’ story, as the Daily Mail Celebrity account felt the need to trumpet it on Twitter this morning.
And if you’re wondering whether the tweet fails to do justice to the story it’s spruiking (by the brilliantly named Shyam Dodge) – it doesn’t.
The ‘article’ featured the classic line: “It was not exactly clear if the pop star had opted for cheese in his sandwich but he did appear to have gone with sliced turkey and a robust dollop of mayonnaise.”
Rightly those who follow the Daily Mail Celebrity on Twitter were slightly underwhelmed too, although the 18,225 retweets suggests interest in Beiber’s dietary habits are high.
Dr Mumbo hopes this isn’t an attempt at native advertising from Subway.
Surely their social media ed was cracking a funny? They might be a tabloid with questionable values, but the journos there aren’t idiots.
