Bunnings: For blokes who like dresses
Here’s a suggestion for Bunnings: If you’re going to put spin into the market that your rival Masters is adopting the wrong strategy by marketing to women, perhaps you should pause your online ads featuring a cupboard full of women’s handbags.
Or indeed the one full of lovely floral dresses preceded by the message “we have your new wardrobe”. Somebody may think you’re targeting women. Which is apparently the wrong thing to do.
That’s a pretty bold statement saying Bunnings are putting spin into the market. It clearly states that “Geoff Dart, a leading partner at retail consultancy Madison Cross” wrote the report. Not Bunnings.
Maybe you should stop putting “spin” on Mumbrella and learn to how to write a factual article, rather than this inaccurate rhetoric.

Correct me if im wrong, but Bunnings never said anything about Masters going about things in the wrong way? The article clearly says an independent retail consultant had written a report on Masters saying that.
I just read the article and there is a Tool Storage advertisment there, clearly Bunnings see the need to promote to both markets.
This mumbrella article seems a little misconstrued.

Bunnings has got it right! They are targeting people who need a new wardrobe…
Who needs the largest wardrobe? Women…who is going to buy it and BUILD it men!
(But that is not to say, I couldn’t build one it I wanted. But I just prefer to shop and fill my new wardrobe up with more hand bags) Does the Male VS Female comment really come into play in 2012?

Late to this, but the reason the wardrobes are full of women’s clothes is neither subliminal, strategic nor hypocritical.
It’s because the stylist would have it no other way. Have you ever seen a wardrobe full of men’s clothes, shoes, belts, junk etc?

I’m assuming this was shot after the article was released?
