Capi, Deloitte, Isobar and IdeaWorks confirmed to speak as Mumbrella Retail Marketing Summit launched

Emma Evans, the CEO of Australian beverage brand, Capi, will join Deloitte Access Economics partner, David Rumbens, Isobar national managing director, Erik Hallander, and IdeaWorks head of retail, Danny Lattouf, as the first speakers announced to take the stage at the Mumbrella Retail Marketing Summit in Sydney on March 21 next year.

Capi CEO Evans will sit on a panel discussing retail startup expansion overseas

Evans will take part in a panel that will explore how retail startups in Australia are seeing global expansion opportunities and what they are doing to make them happen.

According to Startup Muster, in 2017 around 25% of all Australian startups had revenue generated from export sales while 52.1% of those employed at startups where working in marketing. The figures suggest that marketing is seen as an important investment for overseas opportunities for early stage businesses.

On the panel, Evans will discuss how startups are successfully expanding into overseas markets in a world dominated by mass production and heightened competition, giving examples of how Capi has done just that.

Rumbens, the author of Deloitte Access Economics Retail Forecasts, will present his latest findings at the summit

Rumbens, the author of the Deloitte Access Economics Retail Forecasts, will present the ‘must know’ trends around retail in 2019. Off the back of the research conducted he will address questions around which consumers will still have money and what they will spend it on, what other challenges and opportunities retail marketers face and what the ‘must-know’ trends around retail in 2019 are.

This year saw buoyant retail conditions supported by a rundown of household savings but it’s an unsustainable trend which Rumbens will look at during the Mumbrella Retail Marketing Summit.

Hallander will explain headless commerce and its importance to the industry

Meanwhile, Isobar’s Hallander will discuss the idea of headless commerce – a concept that decouples the customer experience from the back-end technology infrastructure enabling brands to deliver a truly customer-centric experience.

He’ll explain the findings of a headless commerce white paper Isobar created this year and elaborate on the context behind the emergence of unified commerce experiences, the limitations of conventional architecture approaches and the requirements of a headless commerce strategy.

Empathy as a retail strategy? Lattouf will detail its significance

Lattouf, who leads VMLY&R-owned Ideawork’s retail team, will move the conversation into areas of emotion when he presents a session about empathy and its relevance to retail marketing.

He’ll dive into the trends that are reinforcing the importance of honest understanding and explain the application of creative solutions in the context of those.

Lattouf will argue that relentless empathy can spur a culture of customer-first thinking and behaviour that will ultimately serve the end customer whilst greatly benefiting people, partners and providers.

The Mumbrella Retail Marketing Summit takes place at the Four Seasons in Sydney on March 21 with early bird tickets on sale now.
