Carat Sydney adds Oliver Carthy as head of digital

Carat Sydney has announced the appointment of Oliver Carthy as its head of digital, a new position for the Dentsu media agency.

Carthy was most recently a digital and social manager at Nespresso, and also spent time at open-source agency Blue 449 (now part of Spark Foundry) and had a stint at Publicis Groupe’s Starcom.

Carat Sydney managing director, Lauren Small, said Carthy will bring experience and passion about consumer behaviour to the role.

“Ollie brings a wealth of experience from both agency and client side and is extremely passionate about consumer behaviour, the ever-changing digital world and how to interpret and apply this for the best customer outcomes.

“We’re delighted that he has joined our growing team.”

Carthy said it’s an exciting time to be joining Carat, amid a “momentous shift” in the digital landscape.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Carat at such an exciting time. It’s clear that there isa huge focus both on delivering exceptional work for clients while building an agency culture that’s second-to-none.

“The digital landscape is undergoing a momentous shift. I genuinely feel that the people and technology that we have at our disposal puts us in the perfect position to help our clients navigate this, while continuing to deliver best in class media solutions that drive business outcomes.”

So far this year Carat has announced a number of senior staff changes across its agencies.

Earlier this week Carat Melbourne announced two senior appointments, with Richard Lehocz promoted to general manager from his current role, head of client leadership. Meanwhile, Stephanie O’Donnell has joined the business from Publicis Groupe as group investment manager.

In May, Carat Brisbane hired Emily Cook as head of client partnerships, while Carat Perth brought on Natalie Salinovich as client director in March.
