Carat Sydney hires OMD’s Georgie Nichols as GM of Sydney
Media agency Carat has poached a second senior executive from OMD hiring Georgie Nichols as its new general manager in Sydney.
Nichols’s appointment sees her replace Angus Fraser, who moved to Mitchells last month as part of a broader management shake up in the agency ahead of it retaining the Woolworths media account.
Her appointment comes just weeks after the poaching of OMD head of trading Dan Sinfield, who replaced Andrew Norris as Sydney managing director. Nicholls will report to Sinfeld.
“I’m thrilled that Georgie will be joining our team in Sydney. Georgie’s experience will see the Carat Sydney office continue its evolution and she is yet another talented individual for the Carat Australia team,” said Simon Ryan CEO of Carat.
“Georgie has the advantage of having worked both client and agency side, which gives her a unique understanding of the challenges that face media and marketing professionals on both sides of the fence, and how best to leverage all relationships to drive real business growth and success for clients and their agencies. We look forward to seeing the impact of her extensive experience on the Carat Sydney team and its clients.”
Prior to OMD where she was business development and marketing director, Nicholls worked as the director of media at Telstra, and has held roles at Clemenger Sydney, Starcom UK and George Patterson Bates.
“Over the past year, Carat has been on a journey of transformation, with a number of client wins and significant appointments. Simon and the team have a very clear vision for the future of Carat which will truly redefine the agency. This vision combined with their enviable client list and true depth of talent, make it an exciting time to be joining,” said Nicholls.
