Pauline Hanson and Germaine Greer star turns for The Apprentice

Pauline Hanson and Germaine Greer are set to be the star turns of Australia’s first outing for The Celebrity Apprentice on Nine, reports The Sunday Telegraph.

Hosted by Mark Bouris, who helmed the moderately successful The Apprentice in 2009, Hanson and Greer will be joined by former Hawthorne captain Shane Crawford and former Home And Away actor Lincoln Lewis, who also features in Nine’s Underbelly Razor. They will also do battle with Polly Porter, a contestant on The Block.

The report, from the Sunday Tele’s Richard Clune, is attributed to “a well placed Nine source”. Clune’s TV tips are generally accurate.

The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice is a hugely successful franchise in the US under Donald Trump and UK under Lord Alan Sugar. The 2009 series, produced by Fremantle Media,  did not see Bouris capture TV viewers’ imagination in quite the same way.

Assuming the report is accurate, Greer’s presence may be a risky one for the show’s makers. She  is no stranger to reality TV, having lasted five days in the Celebrity Big Brother House in the UK before walking out, saying that she did not like reality television and had made a mistake by participating.

Hanson was the leader of the right wing One Nation party, and like Lincoln Lewis is a veteran of Dancing With The Stars.
