Chapman set for Amnesia

doug-chapmanMumbrella understands that digital agency Amnesia has appointed former Marketing Store boss Doug Chapman as its new client services director as it attempts to stabilise itself following a turbulent period which has seen several key staff depart.

Chapman left below the line agency The Marketing Store six months ago, telling Mumbrella at the time that he intended to strike out on his own in the social media field. He is one of the organisers of Social Media Club Sydney.

Amnesia recently saw co-founder Terry Carney depart, executive creative director Iain McDonald hint that he was considering his own future, creative director Andrew Richardson leave for a role in the UK and social media specialist Ang Graham move to BMF. Meanwhile, in another upheaval, owner Microsoft sold the Razorfish group, of which Amnesia is part, to Publicis.

Chapman declined to comment.

Meanwhile, AdNews reports today that Michael Buckley has had an internal promotion to managing director and Jennie Bewes has joined from Vodafone in the joint role of social media director and new business director.
