Comedian Rhys Darby and NZ PM Jacinda Ardern lobby to #getNZonthemap in latest Tourism NZ campaign

Tourism New Zealand has recruited New Zealand comedian Rhys Darby and its own Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, to star in its latest campaign lobbying to #getNZonthemap.

The three minute ad is centred around the idea that New Zealand is disappearing from the world’s maps.

The spot opens with Darby reading multiple articles on the internet about New Zealand being left off world maps.

Darby continues to solve the mystery and locate New Zealand while blaming Australia for conspiring to steal the country’s tourists and France for trying to steal its wine sales.

“Australia want our tourists, England want to get rid of the All Blacks and the wine industry, they can’t beat our pinot or sav,” Darby tells Ardern.

The ad finishes with Ardern pointing out New Zealand is going to need help, encouraging tourists and citizens to #getNZonthemap.
