CommsCon Awards 2018 shortlist announced – Red Agency does it again
Red Agency, part of Havas Worldwide, has topped the CommsCon shortlist again, going two better than last year with 11 nominations across the 28 categories. The agency also topped the shortlist in 2016.
Announced today, the shortlist recognises the best campaigns, businesses and individuals in public relations and the communications industry, having been scored by a judging panel of senior industry executives.
The shortlisted entries will now be re-scored by the judging panels in person, allowing them to discuss each point of the criteria and match it to the submissions to ensure all shortlisted entries have been given the appropriate attention.
Of its nine nominations from 2017, Red Agency came through with three wins, including Large PR Agency of the Year. This year, it has again made the shortlist for Large PR Agency of the Year, as well as PR Employer of the Year, Best Government Relations Campaign and Corporate Social Responsibility, among others.
Red Agency boss James Wright has also been shortlisted for the PR Leader of the Year along with Edelman’s Steven Spurr, Jo Scard of Fifty Acres and Robyn Sefiani of Sefiani.
The closest challenger to the dominant Red Agency this year was independent Sefiani Communications Group with six nominations.
Sefiani as an agency was also shortlisted for PR Professional of the Year (Agency), Midsize PR Agency of the Year, PR Employer of the Year, Best Government Relations Campaign and Pro Bono Campaign of the Year.
Other notable results came from Edelman, CampaignLab and One Green Bean on four shortlisted entries each.
The CommsCon Awards will be presented on March 22 at The Westin in Sydney. Tickets are on sale now.
