Cops LAC audience falls again

Nine’s Cops LAC lost another 139,000 on its third outing, delivering Nine just 787,000 viewers on Thursday night.

The Kate Ritchie led Coogee cop drama – dubbed by News Ltd TV critic Di Butler as Cops Load a Crap – initially hurt Ten’s cop drama Rush in the 8.30pm slot, but the gap has declined from 500,000 viewers on Cops LAC’s debut to 138,000 last week and 11,000 last night.

The show lost audience despite Nine’s preceding show getaway performing better last night than it did the week before – delivering an audience of 1.020m. After Cops LAC ended, Nine’s audience recovered again for The Footy Show, pulling in 892,000.

Elsewhere in the schedule, Sunrise’s winning run against Today came to an end, with the Nine show rating365,000 to Seven’s 356,000, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings. Today won Sydney by a big margin, Melbourne was a dead heat and Sunrise narrowly won Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
