Cougar Town slips further, while Masterchef continues ratings reign

Seven’s Cougar Town has sunk to a new ratings low, while Ten’s Masterchef was the most-watched show for the fourth day in a row.

Cougar Town attracted only 626,000 average viewers, which was down on the 708,000 it had last week, according to preliminary overnight OzTam data in the main metro markets.

Nine’s Sea Patrol fared better in the same 8pm time slot, with over one million viewers. But the night again belonged to Ten’s Masterchef which has led the ratings race all week since its launch on Monday.

Among the sports shows Seven’s The Matty Johns Show maintained a narrow lead ahead of Nine’s The Footy Show in the combined markets of Sydney and Brisbane, with 459,000 compared to the latter’s 417,000.

However, the Nine show led in Brisbane.

In overall free-to-air TV viewing Ten had a strong night, with its main channel attracting 24.7 per cent, ahead of Seven’s 20.2 per cent share. Nine was first with 26.5 per cent.
