Creative and design festival launches agency, SP Brand Studio

Sydney-based creativity and design festival, Semi Permanent, has launched its own agency, SP Brand Studio, that will aim to connect brands with audiences.

The company said the agency will “build on the foundation of two decades of creative collaborations with the world’s leading talent and brands”.

Semi Permanent, which is planning a festival in Wellington in April and Sydney in May, listed KPMG, Microsoft, Heaps Normal, Perion and Sea Forest as founding clients.

Services for the new agency will include strategy, creative, curation and omni-channel production.

“We know that an experience has the profound ability to directly connect with and immerse an audience in a brand’s story, and never before has that level of cut-through been necessary in gaining a competitive advantage,” Semi Permanent founder and chief executive Murray Bell said.

“After nearly 20 years of creating some of the most engaging and well-attended events across the globe as well as online, Semi Permanent is uniquely placed to share this success with our brand partners.”

SP Brand Studio will be led by global creative and content director Mitchell Oakley Smith, brand and partnership director Natalia Sakowicz, digital and talent producer Kate Fagan and creative brand strategist Tom Ryan.

The festival organiser named former Cannes Lions chairman Terry Savage as business advisor in May.
