Cricket and the AFL hand Seven Network a 40.4% share on Thursday night

The Chase Australia topped entertainment again on Thursday night, as the ICC World Test Championship final brought in some sports viewers, giving Seven Network more than 40% share of the night.

Seven secured the exclusive rights to the cricket final between Australia and India in March this year. The game’s day two session one brought in 427,000 metro viewers among 738,000 Total TV viewers in the latest VOZ overnight report.

The network told Mumbrella that the finals have driven 50,000 sign-ups in the first two days of the competition.

Seven West Media chief revenue officer, Kurt Burnette, said: “Seven’s coverage of the ICC World Test Championship has reached over 4.1 million viewers, proving once again Seven is a destination that has the proven ability to deliver big Australian audiences and big moments for advertisers.”
