Cricket Australia gears up for a Summer of Cricket via Apparent

Cricket Australia has launched an integrated campaign ahead of the 2022-23 cricket season, building anticipation for Australian fans of the Summer sport.

The campaign is the latest work from Cricket Australia’s agency of record, Apparent, which has worked with the sport in a full-service capacity across TV, media, digital and social, since 2020.

‘There’s Nothing Like Cricket’ celebrates all that is unique about international cricket, reminding Aussie fans that the sport represents so much more than a game – synonymous with summer, cricket is one of Australian’s favourite ways to spend time with loved ones, and bare a special connection to the Australian identity.

The campaign, which launched on Sunday, includes 30 and 15 second TVCs, as well as national and match-specific OOH, press and social.

Aussie cricket greats appear across the campaign, including Pat Cummins, Ash Gardner, Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne and Nathan Lyon.

The campaign was also supported across OOH executions

Nick Hockley, Cricket Australia CEO said: “There’s nothing like a day at the cricket and this campaign showcases the many exciting opportunities to come together with friends and family this summer. We’re proud to be celebrating everything that’s unique about cricket with this campaign and I’d like to thank everyone who has contributed to bringing it to life.”

Phil Smith, CEO, Apparent said: “We’re proud to continue our strong relationship with Cricket Australia. They are an iconic Australian sporting organisation at the heart of Australian life and our work together is growing the game in all its forms. We’re attracting new audiences and participation – new spectators, fans and players of all ages.”

Apparent ECD Michelle Turchini added: “This campaign celebrates what makes cricket cricket: the international rivalries, summer days, snags and samosas, roaring crowds and Australia’s best-loved sports’ talents.”

Another example of the outdoor execution

The Australian Men’s cricket team is set to soon face England in a Dettol Men’s ODI Series, followed by two NRMA Insurance Men’s Test Series against West Indies and South Africa, while the Australian Women’s Team will wrap up the international season with a CommBank ODI and T20I series against Pakistan
