Danika Porter appointed head of marketing communications at Federal Group

Danika Porter has joined Federal Group as head of marketing communications, after finishing up her role at as communications director at Are Media in April.

Porter joins the marketing team at Federal, which is a Tasmania-based company, operating within the tourism, hospitality, retail, and freight sectors.

Regarding her appointment, Porter said: “I cannot wait to join Federal Group and work with such an impressive portfolio of revered brands. Originally from Tasmania myself and a frequent visitor, many of these properties hold a special part of my time there. And of course who hasn’t seen and dreamed about the fabulous Saffire Freycinet.”

Porter worked at Are Media throughout the transition process rebranding from Bauer Media. Prior to this role, Porter worked at Mumbrella for three years as head of marketing.

Federal Group marketing manager, Greg Farell Jnr said: “We could not be happier to be welcoming Danika back home to Hobart to join Federal Group. For circa 50 years, Federal Group has created world-class tourism and hospitality experiences in Tasmania. We are in the business of creating meaningful connections to people and places.”

Porter commented on her fit at the company, due to her experience as a travel writer: “As a travel writer for over 20 years, my love for tourism has run concurrently to my marketing career. I’m so thrilled that I can now combine these passions, and spread the word about these stellar properties both locally and to visitors around the world. Federal Group is an esteemed family business and it is a really exciting time of expansion to be joining.”
