Don’t mention the Harold
Dr Mumbo is a fan of Brand Republic’s Globetrotter column, offering dispatches from Poms who’ve ended up in Australia.
So he was delighted to see yesterday’s offering from Andy Gilroy of Eye Shop, who tells the website’s British audience:
There is a big media personality who calls British media migrants FILTH – ‘failed in London, trying here’.
Hmm. Who on earth might he be referring to?
“Everyone here knows everyone. It takes a while to break the clique, particularly in Melbourne, where people buy people.”
Nothing better than a UK blow in who knows everything about the local market eh …

So what could us ‘filthy’ Poms call the tens of thousands of Australians making a very decent living in the London media scene?
“Frustrated in Sydney from Lack of Career Opportunites so Living in Much More Competitive London Market and Progressing Twice as Fast as Back Home”.
Hmmm… “Fisflocoslimmclmaptafabh”.
Acronyms have never been my strong point.

The H in FILTH always used to mean Honkers.
The L was also often “life” as opposed to London.
Good to see xenophobia is alive and well.
