Elliott returns with Hangover style comedy

Director Stephan Elliot will return to Australia to shoot the comedy A Few Best Men this August in Queensland.

The script was written by the author of the hit UK comedy Death at a Funeral – whose US remake earned U$16.2m last weekend.

The story is about a groom and his three best men, “who travel to the Australian outback for a destination wedding that is as funny as it is disastrous”.

According to Elliott, Craig’s script “may just have trumped” his favourite movie of the last decade, The Hangover, a comment which might indicate the tone of the project.

It will be produced by Laurence Malkin, Share Stallings, Arclight Films’ Gary Hamilton and Todd Fellman.

Worldwide sales will be handled by Arclight Films, and director Gary Hamilton says there are already pre-sales for the film, which will be taken to Cannes next month.

No cast decisions have been announced.

Encore will publish an interview with Gary Hamilton this Friday.
