Ex Cosmo editor Lorna Gray joins Mamamia as head of features
The last editor of Cosmopolitan, Lorna Gray, has joined Mamamia as head of features.
Gray was appointed to the helm of Cosmopolitan in July last year, where she led the team across both print and online. Gray, who was previously digital managing editor, features, replaced Keshnee Kemp as editor.
However, after three months in her new role, Cosmopolitan was axed, with Bauer Media citing lack of commercial viability as the reason for the closure. Gray a total of four years with Bauer Media, working across other brands such as Dolly and Cleo. In her new role, Gray will report direct to executive editor, Leigh Campbell.
Mamamia’s founder, Mia Freedman, was previously an editor at Cosmopolitan.
Gray joins a number of new recruits to the Mamamia team, including Hannah Mansur as senior manager – partner solutions, Aimee Jenkins as business development manager for Mamamia’s new influencer and social media management agency, Social Squad, and Amelia Navascues, as podcast producer.
Mansur joins the business from PwC, where she spent five years as a consultant, while Jenkins joined the media group from News Corp, where she was media sales manager. Navascues joins Mamamia from Triple J where she was a movie and TV reviewer.
All four members started their new roles this week.
