Lorna Gray promoted to Cosmopolitan editor across both print and digital
Bauer Media has replaced former Cosmopolitan editor Keshnee Kemp, promoting digital managing editor of features, Lorna Gray, to the role, which will now encompass both print and online.
Gray, who first joined Bauer Media as a freelancer in 2014, has held a number of roles across the business, including online editor for Dolly and Cleo, and senior online editor at Cosmopolitan.
She replaces Kemp, who left the publication earlier this year to join Pacific Magazines’ Who as editor and content director.
The new position at Bauer sees the consolidation of the print and digital editing roles, with Gray looking to build the brand across every channel.
Fiorella Di Santo, general managing of publishing at Bauer Media said she was pleased to promote Gray.
“She understands the Cosmopolitan brand and its audience. She will be responsible for continuing to build a strong brand identity across all channels be it on social, digital, events or in print,” Di Santo said.
Sarah-Belle Murphy, general manager of digital at Bauer Media said Gray was perfect for the role, given her previous experience as senior online editor for the title.
“As our digital platforms are an integral part of our business, Lorna’s extensive experience in digital, which includes her previous role as senior online editor at Cosmopolitan, makes her the perfect fit for this role,” Murphy said.
Gray added: “I’m thrilled to be taking on the role of editor for Cosmopolitan. Cosmo is such an iconic brand with a clued-in community who are always looking for fresh, boundary-breaking content. I look forward to the challenge of reaching new audiences and continuing Cosmo’s inimitable legacy with the talented team.”
The appointment comes five months after a restructure of Bauer Media’s digital team. It also comes as Bauer Media ‘centralises’ other magazine titles, including Woman’s Day, OK Magazine and NW. Eleven jobs were axed as part of the process.
Cosmo is still a thing?
As a 90s child I get it, but youngsters these days are surely too smart for this nonsense?
