The announcement:

Brand, marketing and PR agency Example has extended its travel and lifestyle portfolio with new luxury hotel client, JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa.

Example has been engaged by JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa as its PR partner and is charged with launching the new hotel via earned media and influencer strategies, as well as debuting the JW Marriott brand in the Pacific region.

Example first worked with JW Marriott on a project basis earlier this year to announce the $35 million redevelopment and rebrand of Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa, which will see the former tourism icon elevated to a 223-room luxury, JW Marriott hotel by the end of the year.

Set to open in December 2020, Example will work closely with JW Marriott Gold Coast to unveil details of the new look property, including design, food and beverage offerings, guest rooms, unique brand experiences, and amenities.

Rebecca Gollan, Director of Sales & Marketing, JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa, said: “We are excited to announce the debut of our flagship JW Marriott brand in Australia with the opening of JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa. It was clear that Example understood JW Marriott’s values and unique brand positioning from the get go, and we are delighted to have them on board to support the rebrand and opening in December”.

“As a marketing and PR agency with its finger firmly on the pulse when it comes to travel, food, drink and culture, the team is perfectly placed to help us launch and successfully position JW Marriott as a leading luxury brand in Australia.”

Rachel Jones, Example’s Associate Director who also leads the agency’s Brisbane office, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with an iconic, international brand like JW Marriott as it continues to expand globally and into Australia. With the luxury brand’s focus on mindfulness, wellbeing and sustainability, it’s very well positioned to resonate with discerning Australian travellers currently embracing their own backyard and exploring the beauty of the Sunshine State.”

Rebecca Gibbs, Example’s Managing Director, said, “Example’s Queensland footprint continues to grow, and with a strong and experienced team on the ground in Brisbane, we’re proud to work alongside the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa on the landmark launch. Queensland has emerged as a forward-thinking cultural leader and we’re excited to help our clients carve out the state’s unique and exciting place on the international stage”.

Located in the culturally-rich suburb of Fortitude Valley, Example’s Brisbane office operates as an extension of Example’s Sydney HQ, founded by Andy El-Bayeh and Rebecca Gibbs in 2017. A natural extension to the meaningful brand experiences Example works in of food & drink, travel, entertainment and lifestyle; Example’s on ground Brisbane presence services a growing list of Queensland clients including BrewDog, Good Food Month Brisbane, Night Noodle Markets Brisbane and The Curated Plate, as well national and international clients like Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority (PNGTPA).
