Families rescued from boring holidays in new Mercerbell work for Carnival Cruise Line

The Green Thunder waterslide is rescuing families from boring holidays and taking them on board Carnival Cruises in the first piece of work out of customer experience agency Mercerbell.

‘It’s escape with Carnival time’ is the first campaign by the agency since it won the Carnival Cruise Line creative project earlier this year.

The television ad follows a father leaving a windy camping holiday through the Green Thunder waterslide – which is on both the Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend – dropping him and his family onto a Carnival ship or one of Carnival’s tropical island destinations.

Carnival’s Green Thunder prop will also be used as part of a virtuality reality experience which will run across Australia, allowing people to wear a VR headset, and virtually step into the Green Thunder slide and experience the slide out on the boat.

David Bell, MercerBell’s executive creative director said it has been great working with Carnival Cruise Line.

“We’ve created a campaign that has remained completely true to the winning pitch concept. Extending it into VR adds a level of excitement and fun that people can really experience. We look forward to working more with Carnival in the future.”

The campaign will run across TV, cinema, outdoor, online and through experiential experiences.
