Former Omnicom agency leaders launch retail creative agency, Watch This Space

Former bosses of Omnicom’s creative retail agency TRO, Jonathan Klingender and Craig McKay, have launched their own retail ad agency, Watch This Space (WTS).

Klingender was previously the chief operating officer APAC at TRO, while McKay was most recently the Omnicom retail agency’s global creative technology director.

Now the managing director at WTS, Klingender is returning to Australia after seven years in Hong Kong.

WTS will continue to service some of TRO’s longstanding clients including Telstra, Google and Merlin Entertainment.

“The timing was right for TRO to exit Australasia and for Craig and I to put our twenty plus years of experience into our own agency.

“We are both excited and passionate about creative retail and the technological innovation we are able to develop at WTS. This is our focus and we believe we offer highly creative and innovative retail strategies,” Klingender said in a statement.

McKay added: “We have just launched to market our design prototypes,” WTS Creative Director Craig McKay commented. “The retail and event experiences we are offering will take creative technology to the next level.”

WTS is the second retail ad agency to launch in recent months with Bashful opening a luxury agency, SMILE, to specialise in retail.

Meanwhile, In July M&C Saatchi closed its retail division 1440.
