Former Starcom exec resurfaces as Green Hat’s first managing director

Former Starcom Melbourne managing director and BMW marketing general manager, Stuart Jaffray has joined B2B marketing agency Green Hat as its first managing director.

Jaffray resigned from the Publicis media agency at the end of August, finishing up at Starcom in mid-September after three years.

He will report into CEO and co-founder Andrew Haussegger in his new Melbourne-based role. He starts this month.

Jaffray joins Green Hat after recently resigning from Starcom.

He brings two decades of marketing experience to Green Hat, having worked both agency and client side. Jaffray has also worked at creative and CRM agencies in both Australia and in London.

Haussegger said: “B2B marketers are looking for ‘B2B’ solutions to their marketing challenges. It needs a different approach to consumer marketing. We’re excited we have secured the services of Stuart who brings the right blend of thinking that I am sure will inspire our clients as well as our team.

“Growing and measuring B2B brand awareness, the rise and rise of Account-Based Marketing (ABM) and rapid digital adoption are the key themes. We are accelerating our product and strategic proposition to support our clients in this fast-evolving landscape. Stuart’s diverse skill-set and leadership experience will be a key ingredient in our growth.”

Other recent hires at Green Hat include Joel Thomson as content director and Lisa Degen as ABM director. The agency said there hires come off the back of strong growth.

Jaffray joined Starcom in 2018, moving from auto brand BMW, where he was GM of marketing. He took up the role in 2014, spending 11 years in total at the brand.

CEO of Starcom Nick Keenan is leading the Melbourne operations following his departure.

Australia’s largest enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) company, TechnologyOne, appointed Green Hat as its B2B marketing agency of record in November last year.

TechnologyOne is a provider of integrated enterprise software and is one of Australia’s top 150 ASX-listed companies.
