Glenn Dalton departs AJF Partnership to become ECD at independent agency Hardhat
Former creative director at AJF Partnership, Glenn Dalton, has left the business after 13 years to become the first executive creative director at independent creative agency Hardhat.
Dalton’s appointment comes as the agency seeks to continue its evolution from digital to a full-service creative outfit.
Dalton started at AJF Partnership in 2005 as a senior copywriter and was promoted to creative director in February 2014.
Dalton said of his appointment: “Leaving an agency and friends that I love wasn’t an easy decision, but when realising the calibre of people, the energy of the team and the opportunities in front of Hardhat, it wasn’t a difficult one either. I love brand storytelling, and with Hardhat, I’m excited to help tell not just the front cover and blurb on the back, but more of the chapters in between.”
Hardhat co-founder and strategy director, Dan Monheit, used his statement to refute the idea independent agencies are in for a turbulent time.
“We’ve read with curiosity that some in the industry suggest the outlook for independent agencies is dim,” he said.
“A nimble, modern creative agency, with a deep heritage in digital and freedom to think independently from any corporate boundaries is perfectly positioned to add big value to clients as they fight for growth through disruption. Our agency continues to flourish, driven by client confidence that we can deliver ideas and work that grow revenues – and fast.”
Hardhat has won a number of accounts in the last 12 months, including Lion Dairy & Drinks, Bupa and Innocent Bystander.
Congrats to all involved, I’m sure it’s going to a good move for everyone. GD is a smart bloke, strategic thinker and great creative. All the best.
