Google appoints Emotive as creative agency for Google TV

Google has appointed independent creative agency Emotive to lead its campaign work for Google TV.

Google TV groups television shows and films from the myriad of different streaming services into one menu and it’s personalised, so you don’t have to switch between services like Netflix, Stan, and Disney+.

The partnership opens with a content series Watch With Me, featuring Margaret Pomeranz and Adam Goodes and made specifically for the Google TV interface.

The series sees Margaret and Adam share watchlists of their top film and TV picks with one another via Google TV. It runs alongside the global 30” TVC executions showcasing the vast array of content from the different streaming services available and organised via Google TV.

Google marketing director, Cameron Luby, said: “We are so excited to be extending our partnership with Emotive. Google TV has been incredibly well received in Australia and we see this partnership as the beginning of a much larger effort”

Emotive CEO and founder, Simon Joyce, said: “We’re building a wonderful relationship with the Google team and are absolutely thrilled to be working with them on Google TV. As we’ve come to expect, the product is truly innovative, and we are looking forward to pushing the boundaries creatively as we bring Google TV to the mainstream.”

In November 2020, Google appointed 72 and Sunny to work on a campaign promoting its range of 5G Google Pixel phones and Google Nest home smart devices.

The Hallway was first appointed to Google’s creative account in October 2014.

Google consolidated its global media account with WPP’s Essence, part of GroupM, the tech company  confirmed to Mumbrella in November.
