Guardians of Ga'Hoole retitled

Animal Logic’s  3D animated film Guardians of Ga’Hoole will now be called Legend of the Guardians.

The film, directed by Zack Snyder and produced in conjuction with Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow, will avoid refering to the fictional island of Ga’Hoole in its new title, a name which only fans of the Kathryn Lasky books would be able to recognise.

The film features the voices of  Abbie Cornish, Jim Sturgess, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving, David Wenham, Sam Neill and Helen Mirren, playing the owl characters.

Legend of the Guardians will open in the US on September 24, with an Australian release scheduled for the last quarter of the year.
