Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year wins another big night for Nine

Monday was another big success for Nine with the three top programs of the night and the third outing of Hamish and Andy’s Gap year making the top show of the night with 1.49m viewers.

The Block locked in an audience of 1.447m, and Nine News was the third most popular program with 1.423m viewers.

Ten’s new real life crime show Wanted, hosted by Sandra Sully, dropped almost 100,000 viewers in its second outing, with an audience of 543,000 across the five city metro.

MasterChef at 7.30pm brought 800,000 viewers to Ten in a competitive timeslot that saw it against with the final half of The Block and the start of Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year.

Seven had five of the top ten programs with Seven News, Today Tonight, Home and Away, Highway Patrol and Border Security.

Australian Story scored 826,000 viewers for ABC1, and Media Watch, hosted for the second week by returning host Paul Barry following Jonathan Holmes’s departure, had 784,000 viewers.

Seven’s Sunrise was narrowly defeated by Channel Nine’s Today in the morning battle with Today on 381,000 viewers to Sunrise’s 362,000.

Nine secured over a quarter of the free to air audience share with 26.9 per cent, while Seven had an 18.5 per cent of the audience.
