Havas agency slides into Tourism Tasmania roster

Weeks after formerly appointing its new chief marketing officer, Tourism Tasmania has appointed Red Havas as global communications agency of record, following a competitive tender process.

Joining an agency roster alongside BMF, lead digital agency Clemenger BBDO and digital transformation agency, Orchard, Red Havas will be responsible for delivery of global PR strategy and coordination across key markets, to build awareness of the Tasmania brand and drive visitation.

Led by the Australian-based team, the global remit will be activated by the Red Havas network in New Zealand, United Kingdom and Singapore, with the United States supported on a campaign basis alongside the reappointed PR agency Julie Earle-Levine Consulting.

Tourism Tasmania CMO, Lindene Cleary formally took on the role earlier this month, after acting in the position since Emma Terry left the position to take up the role of CEO at South Australia Tourism Commission in January.

New Tourism Tasmania CEO, Sarah Clark said Tasmania is a travel destination that punches above its weight.

“We’re looking forward to working with Red Havas to really tap into those unique stories and increase our global presence across top-tier media outlets, while strengthening our ambition to make a positive impact on tourism around the world.”

James Wright, global CEO Red Havas and CEO Havas Creative Network Australia added: “We feel very privileged to be appointed as the Global Communications Agency for Tourism Tasmania and to partner with their incredible team to showcase Tassie to the world.”

“Tasmania provides a rich source of storytelling and we are energised by the opportunity to capture the island’s culture and diversity, leveraging our deep credentials and relationships in key markets to encourage people to experience the destination. Having visited many times, I can say the feeling of the culture and environment is truly an antidote to the fast-paced and cluttered reality of today’s busy world.”
