Holidays to remember
To the Tourism Directions conference in Canberra where moderator Ellen Fanning had kind words to say about Tourism Australia supremo Andrew McEvoy:
“He’s such a good salesman he could probably convince you to take a holiday in an industrial park. And convince you that you had a good time.”
Dr Mumbo hopes it doesn’t come to that.
If he’s such a good salesman how come his big sales campaign – Oprah in Australia -hasn’t got one Septic bum on an airline seat to Australia.
This is the sales expert who said in last week’s Good Weekend he saw an ad for holidays in Italy so five years later he remembered Italy and went there. Yep, in five years he reckons thousands of Yanks will suddenly remember Oprah and come down under in droves. Try telling that to struggling tour operators sitting in Cairns.
