IAG moves CGU Insurance media account to Mindshare Australia

Insurance group IAG has moved media buying for its CGU brand to Mindshare Australia.

Mindshare has held the IAG group account since the start of 2015 having moved the business from MediaCom following a scandal over audience reporting, however this will be the first time the agency will work with CGU.

Prior to MediaCom, the account sat with Carat.

IAG chief marketing officer, Brent Smart said in a statement announcing the change: “We’re pleased to extend our partnership with Mindshare as we move into 2018. It will be an exciting year for IAG brands and our work with Mindshare will be key to our ongoing success.”

Aaron Achurch, client leader from Mindshare, part of WPP AUNZ said: “I’m really looking forward to working with CGU as part of the IAG consolidation. The IAG team has great vision and energy which is contagious. We’re excited about expanding our partnership with IAG.”

Katie Rigg-Smith Mindshare CEO said: “We are thrilled to be working with CGU and including them in our overall IAG relationship. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with IAG over the past few years and very much look forward to working with CGU team going forward.”
