iiNet positions itself as the ‘NBN champion’ as it compares internet speed to Romania and Slovakia
iiNet has become one of the first major broadband providers to launch a major advertising campaign promoting the National Broadband Network.
The government-backed NBN is being rolled out across the country, with telcos able to resell access to retail customers.
The new campaign sees iiNet positioning itself as the “NBN champion” and comparing Australia’s current internet speeds to that of Romania and Slovakia.
Created by Marketforce, the two spots feature the Irish iiNet spokesperson Tom and end with the tagline “It’s a matter of national pride”.
Airing on mainstream TV in Victoria and the ACT until the end of June, Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast viewers will also have the chance to see the campaign on World Cup big screens in Belmore Park, Federation Square and Circle on Cavill.
Unfortunately Turnbull doesn’t see it that way and instead wants to saddle us with an overpriced copper network that cannot guarantee upload speeds greater than are already available with ADSL2.
I bet agencies are happy with that the next time they suffer using Go to Meeting!
