Joe Hildebrand signs for Ten’s new morning show

joe hildebrandNews Limited’s Joe Hildebrand will be a panelist on Ten’s new morning show, the network has announced.

The show is being overseen by Ten’s director of morning television Adam Boland who regularly used Hildebrand in his previous role looking after Seven’s Sunrise and The Morning Show.

Ten has previously announced Ita Buttrose as a co-presenter for the new mid-morning show.

In today’s announcement, Boland said: “Joe is passionate, provocative and just a little bit odd. He’s also supersmart and entirely unpredictable. He’ll be right at home on this show.”

Hildebrand is a columnist and opinion editor at TheDaily Telegraph. As well as his regular Seven appearances, he also contributes to Sky News’ Paul Murray Live show and presented ABC2’s Dumb,Drunk and Racist. His new series for ABC2, Shitsville Express, starts on Tuesday.

Amongst other things, Hildebrand is known for his unusual approach to television’s traditional sartorial standards.

Hildebrand said in the announcment: “I have done a huge amount of things in my time as a journalist, but my whole life there have only ever been two goals that really mattered tome: to appear on television with Ita Buttrose and to beat Larry Emdur at his own game. Finally with this new show, I can achieve both these dreams.” Hildebrand’s new show will put him head-to-head with Emdur, who co presents The Morning Show with Kylie Gillies.

Hildebrand added: “Please address all complaints to Ten.”
