Jury unveiled for FBI Talent Co and Akcelo’s talent program

The juries for FBI Talent Co and Akcelo’s recently launched talent program have been revealed, featuring a number of Australia and New Zealand’s top creative talent.

The program, created for emerging creatives and students, will provide Sydney and Melbourne-based talent the opportunity to showcase their thinking, as well as obtain education, training and coaching.

The juries for the two categories have been announced, including Ogilvy Australia’s ECD Hilary Badger, creative director at The Monkeys, Joe Sibley, and Robyn Bergmann, creative director at VML Melbourne.

Akcelo’s group creative director Louise McQuat and creative partner Oskar Westerdal will feature on the two panels.

“It’s brilliant to have such a high calibre of judges for the inaugural LAUNCH programme,” said Michael Kean, FBI Talent Co’s CEO.

“Each judge will bring a wealth of experience to identify and recognise great Aussie talent. This is something the industry very much needs; whether that be for a student team to get their first break, or for emerging talent to get further training, coaching and career growth opportunities.”

Juror and creative director at VML Melbourne, Robyn Bergmann, told Mumbrella: “The ad business is all about getting your foot in the door and I’m excited to help make that happen for the winners of this inaugural LAUNCH program.

“And selfishly I am looking forward to uncovering the next generation of creative greats from Australia. Having a fresh flow of diverse people is so important to the future of our industry,” she said.

Gavin Chimes, juror and ECD at Howatson+Company, added: “It’s a great initiative that gives a legitimate leg up into the industry.

“With so much on the line, I’m looking forward to seeing how far the students will push their ideas. There can only be one winner, after all.”

The winning professional team will be awarded $10,000 in prize money, as well as ongoing career mentorship. The winning student will also receive a three-month paid internship with Akcelo.

The entry deadline for the free-to-enter, inaugural program closes on April 5.
