Kidspot’s Shauna Anderson named 9Honey editor

Kidspot’s news editor Shauna Anderson will be returning to Nine to take the helm of 9Honey.

Anderson, who has previously worked at Mamamia, Kidspot, and was the chief of staff for Nine’s The Today Show, will return to the entertainment company in October as 9Honey’s editor.

Anderson will take the helm as editor of 9Honey from November

9Honey launched 18 months ago with editor Kerri Elstub at the helm. Elstub has since been promoted to digital editorial director, reporting into Helen McCabe, Nine’s digital content director.

Elstub now oversees editorial for all of Nine’s key digital lifestyle, news and sports websites, including 9honey.com.au, nine.com.au, 9news.com.au and WWOS.com.au.

“It is great to welcome Shauna back home to Nine,” said McCabe.

“Shauna knows the lifestyle vertical really well, having worked for a number of key players within the space, and I know she will be able to drive 9Honey further as we look to grow the brand in both the digital and cross-platform environment.”

Anderson described 9Honey as a “real leader” in online lifestyle.

“This is a great opportunity to continue growing the audience and developing the proposition for an audience of women interested in our lifestyle content,” she said.

At the same time, 9Honey’s deputy editor, Julia Naughton, has been promoted to managing editor of lifestyle. Naughton previously worked in editorial roles at Huffington Post and Cosmopolitan.

Naughton has been promoted to managing editor

“Julia has done a phenomenal job since joining Nine in early 2017,” McCabe said.

“She has taken up every role we have thrown at her with passion and boundless enthusiasm. This new role will include managing the upcoming site relaunch and reflects our intention to continue building out the 9Honey verticals as we evolve our lifestyle network.”

On her appointment, Naughton added: “There is a real opportunity around the relaunch to continue to grow our audience and connect with millions of Australian women each month.”
