KPMG’s Sudeep Gohil promoted from head of brand strategy to partner

KPMG has promoted head of brand strategy, and former Droga5 boss, Sudeep Gohil to partner.

Gohil joined the consultancy in August last year, prompting a move back to Australia after he was based in Mumbai for a year and a half as managing director of Publicis India.

Gohil’s promotion comes after he joined the consultancy in August 2018

“I am incredibly excited to be invited into the partnership at KPMG. The growth of our customer, brand and marketing team which I sit within has been testament to the work we have been delivering,” Gohil said of his promotion.

“I am looking forward to further extending our offering and delivering more marketing and brand strategy focused projects for our diverse range of clients.”

Prior to Publicis, Gohil held a number of other international positions. He had stints at BBH Japan and London. From there, he was based in the US at Wieden + Kennedy, before moving to Sydney as a founding partner of Droga5 Australia. He spent eight years at Droga5, until it shut its Sydney office in 2015. During his time as CEO, he also served as chairperson of The Communications Council, and co-founded healthcare startup Tyde Inc at the end of his Droga tenure.

From there, Gohil popped up as a group strategy director at 72 and Sunny Los Angeles, where he remained for a year, until he moved to India for the Publicis role.

“I just thought I want to try and do something different and I want to try and be looking forward rather than looking back, and with the greatest of respect to all the agencies I have ever worked for and all the people I have ever worked with, I just thought I wanted to do something that was different and future-facing rather than looking in the other direction,” Gohil told Mumbrella at the time of his KPMG appointment.

Earlier this week, Mumbrella revealed that KPMG has moved its media account from Zenith to Initiative.
