KWP acquires branding and design agency Boab, expanding NT operations

Creative agency KWP has acquired Northern Territory branding and design studio Boab, creating a full service marketing communication agency.

KWP was founded in South Australia, and opened its Darwin office in 2017. The new combined agency will be servicing clients in the north of Australia and Asia from its Darwin office.

KWP won the creative account for Tourism NT in October 2018 after losing the Tourism SA account six months prior.

KWP Group managing director David O’Loughlin said the acquisition marked the agency’s continued investment into the Northern Territory.

“We love the NT and have moved to partner with the best creative minds in the region to strengthen our full service offering and establish an innovative design hub to service national clients from the Darwin office,” O’Loughlin said.

“At KWP, we are in the business of working with great Australian brands and connecting them with people everywhere, and this will allow us to do that on a greater scale with the introduction of the new design hub.”

General manager of KWP Darwin, Kaia Wright, said that the acquisition would make KWP the leading full service offering in the Northern Territory.

This latest acquisition comes two months after KWP bought O’Rourke Public Relations, making founder Rebecca O’Rourke director of marketing and communications.
