Leigh ‘The Gardener’ Terry steps up to the oche
You’ve got to feel sorry for media executives stuck on their long, boring gardening leave.
After all, there are only so any triathlons (in James Greet’s case) or half marathons (in Ian Perrin’s case) you can run.
Take former Omnicom Media Group boss Leigh Terry, who at the end of this year will become IPG Mediabrands’ new APAC boss.
And how is he keeping himself amused?
By going to the darts. In this case, the Sydney Darts Masters, which, as all aficionados will be aware, was won by Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor over the weekend.
But as befits a media bigwig, watching the action wasn’t enough. Leigh ‘The Gardener’ Terry made it on to the stage “on behalf of Fox Sports” to present Taylor with his trophy.
The important stuff starts at the 45:00 point in the video.
Dr Mumbo notes the whistles that followed the announcement. He can only hope that Leigh didn’t feel too objectified.
You’ve also got to feel sorry for journos who, in their haste to push save on their snarky comments, lose any last remaining credibility by making multiple spelling mistakes in the few lines of scrawled text.

Hi Joe Blow,
You’ll have to help me out… I’m pretty sure that’s how you spell aficionados. And oche. Or was there another word you had in mind?
Cheers,

Leigh…you didn’t get to say anything!!!!!

Well done for updating before the smug response. You have, however, missed “After all, there are only so any triathlons”. Happy to offer proof reading services for future articles if needed?
